The Gulf County, Florida Board of County Commissioners on September 26, 2017 appointed a committee of patriotic citizens and local veterans to direct an effort to build The Honor Walk at the Gulf County Veterans Memorial Park. The park is located on U.S. Hwy. 98 between Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach, on Florida's Northwest Gulf Coast. Although Hurricane Michael delayed the process, construction is now complete, and the Honor Walk was officially dedicated on Veterans Day, November 11, 2020.

Visit the park's Facebook page
for videos showing the construction process to completion.

A portion of the funds needed to accomplish this goal came from friends and family members who chose to use this beautiful park to honor or memorialize a special veteran in their life. Two walkways extend twenty feet from the center of the monument in opposite directions. The rows of bricks lining these walkways have been engraved in honor or memorial of those veterans.
